Why did I choose to specialize in online copywriting?

It’s simple. It’s because I love the internet! To me, going online is like having the whole world at my fingertips. I love watching people and businesses create a strong web presence. It’s a whole new definition of the American Dream.

For today’s businesses both large and small, a website isn’t an option; it’s a necessity. It helps to establish your business presence, and it’s available to tell the world what you have to offer, even when your business isn’t open.

But there is more to setting up an online presence than slapping up a few pages of a website and expecting a steady stream of visitors.

Content marketing requires strategy. It requires words that sparkle and engage, not boring business jargon. It requires a deliberate plan to gently lead your readers to do what you want them to do, whether that is to join your email list or purchase your product.

Your words have to communicate your message with clarity and intrigue. Each word has to be carefully chosen to help your visitors navigate their way around your website and ultimately turn prospects into clients.

A Little More About Me

My name is Valerie Dansereau. Since I was a little girl, I loved to write. From stories scribbled on scrap paper to term papers typed with passion and purpose, writing was always my preferred method of communication.

I knew I was born to be a writer!

At first I didn’t think of writing as a career. I dabbled in different jobs and was never really satisfied, but somehow writing was always in the background of my life. I wrote short stories, I wrote in journals, I wrote whenever I could on the job.

By 2006 I became interested in working from home. For the next few years, I read voraciously about starting a home business. I started to learn about how to generate traffic, how to build an email list, how to write press releases. I learned about the art and science of information marketing and how powerful content marketing on the internet had become. I learned the difference between writing for the web and writing for offline materials.

Even as a banker, I was most excited by writing projects and I wrote the Loan Operations Procedure Manuals for two different banks. Whenever I could write on the job, I thought I was in heaven! That included not only writing and revising procedure manuals, but also writing memos and emails.

I was determined to become a professional writer that could provide top-of-the-line web copy.

I began studying copywriting through American Writers and Artists Institute, also known as AWAI. I have been thoroughly trained in direct response copywriting by top marketers including Michael Masterson and Bob Bly.

I strive to continually sharpen my copywriting skills by studying the work of great copywriters such as Brian Clark, Gary Bencivenga, John Caples and David Ogilvy, and by participating in webinars through AWAI and Wealthy Web Writer. I am a member in good standing of the Professional Writers Alliance.

My passion for online writing is coupled with solid business experience. I have been part of the business world for almost 30 years, and I have more than 20 years’ experience in banking. On a personal level, I have a deep passion for self-help and personal development.
